Custom '68 Bass in Transparent Black

The difference and quality between this and a factory "custom shop" are night and day.
Our transparent black finish is done unlike factory finishes. It's a 2-stage process, first highlighting the grain with medium brown stain, sanding it back, then directly applying the black to the wood afterwards. By not leaving the color "floating" in the clearcoat, it gives it far more depth, and picks up all the natural black, blue and green swirls from the grain. On this one a few drops of vintage amber were added to the clear coat to give it a slightly antiqued look. Featuring a beautiful Macassar Ebony fingerboard with genuine white mother of pearl block markers, this neck provides a FAR superior sustain and evenness of tone due to the 3 piece laminated back. This touched off by 3mm genuine MOP side dots, white pearloid double binding, and a white pearloid pickguard.
